Heated Power Yoga Class with Laurie Marquardt, RN, MSEd, RYT 200 from West Hartford Yoga Studio, CT – trained by Barbara Ruzansky, Shankara Newton of Kripalu, MA, and Niki Poole of Ana Forrest Yoga in California. She is registered w Yoga Alliance and also is Certified as a Personal Fitness Trainer with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She has certifications in Thai Yoga Massage, as well as Reiki therapy and therapeutic yoga. She has recently earned a certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist w NASM. Laurie was the former Group Exercise Director at Midtown Athletic Club, where she taught many forms of group X over a 16 year period and introduced yoga to that club in 2002. She spent the next 2 year period in Hartford, CT getting her yoga training and teaching yoga at Syncronicity on Long Island before returning to the area teaching at the Victor Yoga Studio and several other places. She is presently the Fitness Director at Cobblestone Creek Country Club.
Heated Power Yoga – multilevel
Become aware of your energy, allow your connective tissues to melt, feel the liberation of your body opening up, and release toxins in a heated environment of 85 degrees.
Heated Power Yoga is about “feeling” the space in which you reside and perhaps find where your spirit resides. The focus will be on core and integration of your body. Options will be offered, and physical adjustments will be given.
Stiff Person Yoga (Beginners)
This is a fun beginner class. Do you have trouble tying your shoes, or looking over your shoulder in the car? How about getting more rotation in your golf swing?
Basic stretches with the focus on alignment of the spine will be offered. Also, there will be modifications for individuals w limitations due to prior surgery and/or injuries.
